Our initiatives draw on the foundations commitment to inspire movement in all areas. The common theme throughout our foundation is to drive Functional Movement: more than just physical fitness, but also healthier eating choices, and a movement toward a better you. The Fit for life foundation is focused on 4 distinct areas: School Assistance, Camps/Classes, Mentorship, and Education. These programs are funded by the sales of RFFL products, direct donations, event and corporate sponsorship, and individual fundraising.
Funding for School Programs
The RU FFL Functional Movement in schools initiative is specifically focused on funding PE programs, staffing alternative PE, and giving local schools affordable options for their students/youth. We can provide education to the current providers of PE, facilitate staffing for any under funded staffed programs, and create content that focuses on healthy and fun functional movement.
Camps & Classes
The RU Fit for Life Camps/Clinics Initiative “where everyone is an athlete” makes an effort to increase community involvement and outreach to more children by providing camps/clinics throughout the year to discover the healthy athlete inside of each kid. We are committed to funding annual programs such as RU Fit Kids Camp, Youth Ranger Program, Cyclekids to encourage kids to stay involved. RU Fit for Life priority is forming partnerships that are geared toward providing healthy, fun, encouraging, challenging, and dynamic options for our youth.
The RU FFL Education Initiatives primary goal is to provide educational seminars and programming to give; fulfill, uplift, empower our youth and their families with the tools through knowledge to effect change. We will utilize the Rehab United network, both in house and outside specialists in their field to speak to our RU FFL kids to increase their knowledge base surrounding physical fitness, nutrition and positive self image. We will host seminars in the areas of physical fitness/wellness, mental health, nutrition, and positive self-affirming activities. Our goal in this initiative is that our members leave with life long skills to make positive choices in their life. *Develop the knowledge of healthy eating habits *create opportunity to understand why movement is so important *Lead by example and grow and build mental drills and educational materials to encourage healthy mental children in San Diego
